FAQ
WHY IS CUSTOM BETTER?
Firstly, it’s all about the quality. Nothing beats a solid wood piece of furniture that was built to last a lifetime. Living in South Carolina, we know how the humidity here can destroy your furniture. So it makes sense having pieces that were built to survive here.
Secondly is design. In the last few years we’ve seen the farmhouse boom, and most of the people we know now have the same style of dining table. Having an original piece of furniture gives a sense of pride in your home and a little bit of envy in your friends.
WHERE ARE WE LOCATED?
We’re located one mile over the Georgia state line off of exit 1 in North Augusta, South Carolina.
DO WE GUARANTEE OUR WORK?
Had a mishap? I understand that accidents can happen. If one of our pieces has become accidentally damaged, just call and schedule a repair. You’ll only be charged for the actual time and materials it takes to fix it. We love our pieces as much as you do, and we want them to last you a lifetime!
HOW DO WE PRICE OUR PIECES?
All of our pieces are priced based on the materials used and the labor time required to complete the piece. This will include transportation and costs for the materials.
DO WE HAVE A MINIMUM ORDER?
Yes, we have a $1500 minimum order, this can be multiple pieces. Since we finish mill and prep all the wood for the pieces we make, we may have 4-6 hours of work getting the wood ready to build with. This takes all the profitability out of smaller pieces. We can build multiple small pieces together to make up the total. For instance; a coffee table and 2 side tables that total $1500.
PLEASE NOTE: This does not apply to stand-alone table tops. Stand-alone tabletops, Finished or unfinished can be purchased without minimum.
HOW LONG DOES A CUSTOM PIECE TAKE TO MAKE?
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the Covid virus and its impact on American industry and transport, most pieces are now requiring longer for material acquisition. This is out of our control and we apologize for the longer delivery times.
A straightforward table design will usually take around 16 weeks to deliver. Custom designs that require engineering or prototyping will take up to 6 months. We ask that you allow 6 months of delivery on all custom pieces.

DO WE DO REPAIRS/REFINISHING?
At this time we do not take on any outside repairs, refinishes, or repurposes. I’m always happy to refer anyone to a qualified servicer, whether you’re a customer or not. Just contact me with a description of what you need repairing, and I’ll point you in the right direction. We always provide repairs for pieces that we’ve created.
WHERE DO OUR MATERIALS COME FROM?
We try to source our materials as close to home as possible, with the bulk of our oak, hickory, pecan, and walnut coming from the Oklahoma/Texas region. During peak building seasons, some overflow material will come from the Appalachian Mountains region. Our maple and Cherry come from the northern United States, and our mahogany comes from sustainable farms in central Africa. All of the wood we use is FSC certified from sustainable sources. We never use endangered woods or woods from ecologically challenged areas.
CAN YOU SUPPLY YOUR OWN WOOD?
Absolutely! If you happen to have wood that has been milled and is dry and stable enough to use, we will gladly build with it. Finish milling charges will apply. any nails or metal is found that damages any knives or blades replacement will be at the expense of the customer. We would need to evaluate each piece of structural integrity and usability before the design phase.
PLEASE NOTE: We CAN NOT guarantee the structural integrity of provided woods. There are many factors that determine how the wood will act over the course of its use. Provided woods may warp, twist, crack or gap over their lifetime. We will repair these defects if they happen, and you’ll only be charged for the actual time and materials it takes to fix them.
ARE OUR MATERIALS SAFE FOR CHILDREN AND PETS?
100% Yes! Our process and materials are compliant with state and federal regulations as to the safe manufacture of furniture. We never use pressure-treated, chemically treated, or contaminated woods. We never use laminates, veneers, or containing formaldehyde. We never use materials imported from areas with unregulated trade. If you’d like to know what’s in our products, just ask.
